Sometimes you don't need a forecast or wind gauge — you need to know the temperature in a room that's a long way off. The TempPro TP60 is built around that. Its wireless sensor reaches up to 150 metres, one of the longest ranges in our range, so it comfortably covers a greenhouse at the bottom of the garden, a detached garage, a cellar or a nursery where other sensors simply lose the signal. The big, uncluttered LCD shows indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity in large digits with clear trend arrows, so a glance tells you if the greenhouse is warming up or the cellar is drifting damp.

It's deliberately no-nonsense: there's no hub to install, no app to sign into and no account — the sensor talks straight to the display, and the whole thing runs on the four AAA cells that come in the box. It keeps both 24-hour and all-time high and low records so you can catch an overnight frost or a midday peak you missed, and it expands to three rooms by adding TX-2C sensors on separate channels. Simple, long-range and reliable, it's the sensor for the far corner of the property. (It's the same product previously sold under the ThermoPro name.)

How far will the sensor actually reach?

Up to 150 metres (500 feet) in the open — one of the longest ranges we stock — which is why it suits a greenhouse, detached garage or cellar. Walls and metal shorten it, so line of sight helps for the very furthest spots.

Does it need a hub, app or WiFi?

No. The sensor sends straight to the display over its own radio link, with nothing to install and no account. Fit the included AAA batteries and it works out of the box.

Can I monitor more than one room?

Yes — it supports up to three rooms in total. Add TX-2C sensors on separate channels to watch, say, a greenhouse, a garage and a cellar from the one display.

Does it measure humidity as well as temperature?

Yes, both indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, with trend arrows and min/max records for each — handy for spotting damp in a cellar or heat build-up in a greenhouse.

Use its range

Place the sensor in the far room or outbuilding first and check the display still reads it. With up to 150 m to play with, most greenhouses, garages and cellars are well within reach — line of sight helps at the extremes.

Keep the sensor out of the sun

In a greenhouse especially, mount the sensor in shade and away from heaters, or it'll read the glass and the heat, not the air. Shade gives you the temperature that actually matters for plants.

Add rooms as you need them

Start with the included sensor, then add TX-2C units on separate channels to watch up to three spaces. Check each min/max after a cold night to catch frost you'd otherwise miss.
